Ward designed a shingle-style mansion that recalls the grand beachfront homes of Newport, Rhode Island. One of the plan’s unique features is an expansive family room cleverly bookended by a square paneled library and a round paneled breakfast room.
There is a curved bay living room, an octagonal formal dining room, a professional gourmet kitchen and a vast skylighted outdoor lounge with a deep trellised roof. Equally dramatic is the second-floor master suite’s bay windows that attract colorful sunsets and cool breezes with its 180-degree view of the Pacific Ocean.
